The /pulse count rendered as a raw JSON block (nested arrays) instead of a card.
Root cause: the portal's apply_jq collects the jq output stream into an array itself. The filter wrapped its object in [ … ], so it emitted one array-valued output → apply_jq nested it to [[{…}]] → failed the array-of-objects card renderer → fell back to dumping raw JSON.
Fix: emit a bare object (like the releases jq's .[] | {…} streams bare objects), so apply_jq collects it into [{…}] and the card renderer shows the number as the heading with 'voices echoed so far' beneath.
Verified: echo '{"voices_echoed":5}' | jq '{name:(.voices_echoed|tostring),description:"voices echoed so far"}' → single object.

The portal's apply_jq collects the jq output stream into an array
itself. The wrapping [ … ] made the filter emit one array-valued
output, which nested to [[{…}]] and failed the array-of-objects card
renderer, dumping raw JSON. Emit a bare object like the releases jq
does, so it collects into [{…}] and renders as a card.
